RICKERY Park at Carlisle was transformed overnight into a huge lake as the weekend's rainfall from Storm Isha collected in the floodplain.
Pedestrians crossing Eden Bridge paused to take in the spectacle as sunlight glinted and shimmered on the fast moving water, which remained just a few feet below the park-side footpath and well below the Sands Centre flood defence wall.
It was just one of the many impacts of the storm, which has seen winds of almost 100mph hit some parts of the UK.
