A CARLISLE woman who smashed a window during a drink-fuelled row after a works party has been handed a £154 court bill.
Sophie Cutting, 30, committed the offence in Orton Road, Carlisle, shortly before 4am on New Year’s Day, the city’s Rickergate court heard.
The defendant, of Dalton Avenue, Raffles, pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage.
Tariq Khawam, defending, said alcohol and “played a part”, causing the defendant to overreact when the she was verbally abused and called and insulting name.
“There was an argument, she overreacted and broke the window,” said the lawyer. “It’s as simple as that.” Cutting was fined £49, with £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
