The Great North Air Ambulance Service's 2023 statistics reveal a record 2,270 callouts, linked to their 24/7 critical care car service expansion.
A total of 610 callouts were in Cumbria, marking an increase in demand for the service.
1,493 of those callouts came in the North East region, with others spreading to Scotland and the Isle of Man.
To ensure their ability to continue life-saving service, the organisation emphasised its reliance on donations.
They thanked supporters for their contributions in 2023 and stressed the need to continue fundraising efforts into 2024.
