A Carlisle family has gathered for a photograph to celebrate five generations of first-born girls.

Baby Morgan-Jade, 1, Jordan, 26, Grandma Lisa, 44, Grand Grandma Sandra, 64 and Great Great Grandma Margery, 82 came together in front of the lens to capture this unique moment of family history.

Margery was during the second world war, in August 1941 and began the ‘unusual’ family pattern of the eldest of each generation being a girl.

Margery had Sandra in 1959, Sandra had Lisa in 1979, Lisa went on to have Jordan in 1997 and Jordan had Morgan-Jade.

“It’s so lovely to share this photograph of all of us,” said Great Grandma Sandra.

“As soon as I heard that Jordan was having a baby girl then I knew that I wanted this photograph done.

“I feel so lucky as a lot of families aren’t able to be in a situation like this and for it to be all first-born daughters, that makes it even more special.
