A DRINK-DRIVER who was more than twice the limit has been banned from the roads for 20 months.
Joanne Banks, 63, had been driving a blue Kia on the A596 at Flimby when the offence took place on December 12.
A breath test showed she had 73mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit to drive is 35mcg.
Banks, of Garborough Close, Crosby, Maryport, pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle with alcohol level above the limit.
Magistrates sitting in Workington banned the defendant from driving for 20 months, to be reduced by 20 weeks, if she completes the drink-drivers’ rehabilitation course.
She was fined £396 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £158 victim surcharge.
