THE new year's Allonby Dook dip has made a splash for charity by raising £950.
Blessed with sunny and breezy weather, the event saw a mixed group of people fearlessly bring in 2024 by taking the plunge into the icy waters.
All money raised will go to help support Maryport Rescue, who were on-site to keep everyone safe throughout the morning.
A spokesperson from Maryport Rescue said: "What a fantastic event it was with plenty of people taking part and a good crowd cheering them on.
"Followed by refreshments back at the village hall. A great start to the year.
"Thank you to the organisers and everyone who took part and donated today, total raised £950 - which is amazing," they said.
The funds will be used to help maintain the independent life-saving service, which operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
