Police have seized more than £800 worth of cocaine following a street patrol in a Cumbrian town on new year's eve.
Allerdale neighbourhood policing team were on patrol in Workington and had to conduct a 'short foot chase' after a man took drugs in front of a police car.
A spokesperson for Allerdale Police said: "Allerdale NPT have been out on foot patrol tonight in Workington town centre.
"Stop searches were conducted throughout the night and over £800 worth of cocaine was taken off the streets.
"One individual even had the audacity to consume his drugs in front of a police vehicle resulting in a short foot chase before they were apprehended."
