Carlisle Cathedral is 'thrilled' to have gained an Eco Church Bronze Award, recognising its sustainability endeavours.
The A Rocha Eco church awards scheme, which issues Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels, assists churches in integrating environmental concerns with their faith through practical action.
We are delighted to announce that Carlisle Cathedral has achieved the Eco Church Bronze Award.

Looking ahead, the Dean of Carlisle The Very Reverend Jonathan Brewster said their focus is now on the upcoming 2024 Silver Award.
“We are thrilled to achieve the Bronze Award for Eco Church.
"Working towards this accolade has given us the opportunity to analyse and improve our current practices in relation to the way we use and look after the cathedral environment.
"We look forward to continuing with this in 2024 and working towards the Silver Award," he said.
In a post on social media, Carlisle Cathedral thanked staff and volunteers for their efforts in contributing to the award.
