THE LAKE District has been named in the top 20 places to spend New Year's Eve in the UK this year.
Big 7 Travel has made a list of the top places to spend NYE with the Lake District making the list.
"The list, which is now in its 4th year, was determined from a combined score of reader suggestions throughout the year, attendance, the variety of events, value for money, the scale, and accessibility.
"The Lake District may not be high on your list of places to see in the New Year in style, however, the Lake District is a hidden gem when it comes to hosting New Year’s Eve events.
"With private hotel events, public events held at nightclubs or pubs, and festivities across the region, you’re bound to find the perfect place to ring in the New Year."
