A NORTH Cumbrian motorist who was caught behind the wheel while more than twice the drink drive limit has been given a 20-month ban.
Jack Farish, 27, from Micklethwaite, committed the offence on November 17 while driving an Audi on road that links with the A596, Carlisle’s Rickergate court heard.
At the time, he had 84mcg of alcohol in every 100mls of breath.
The legal limit for driving is 35mcg. The defendant pleaded guilty to the offence.
Farish was fined £998 and told that he must pay costs of £85 and a £399 victim surcharge.
He was offered the drink driver rehabilitation course, which if completed by a deadline will reduce his ban by 20 weeks.
The defendant was legally represented.
