A HOMELESS man has appeared before a Carlisle court accused of attempting to rob a person at Wetheral railway station.
Colin Faulke, 53, who has no fixed address, is accused of committing the offence on December 3, allegedly trying to steal another man’s mobile phone and wallet.
The defendant appeared briefly before magistrates at Carlisle’s Rickergate court.
He declined to enter any plea.
Magistrates ruled that the case should go to Carlisle Crown Court for a hearing on January 3, when Faulke is likely to be invited to enter his plea. In the meantime, he will remain remanded in custody.
There was no application for bail.
