A POPULAR Carlisle takeaway is to renew its lease for another nine years after a successful negotiation.

The Everest Kitchen on London Road was originally set up in 2013 and has undergone various business names and ownerships over the past 10 years.

It was previous known as Carlisle Express, which ran for several years, before changing its name to Everest Kitchen in 2022.

The Indian-led Nepalese takeaway will also be taking up an advertising hoarding at Carlisle United's Brunton Park alongside other local businesses, with the takeaway saying that it will 'champion' women's football clubs and rugby clubs from next year.

Everest Kitchen spokesman and managing landlord, Iftikar Hussain, confirmed that the lease is to be contracted once more for the full nine years.

The deal will be formalised with Cartmel Shepherd Solicitors.
