CHRISTMAS half-term is quickly approaching, which means parents can look forward to spending quality time with their children.

It also means finding two weeks' worth of activities to keep the kids entertained.

A spokesperson from Moneyzine.com said: "With many parents feeling the financial strain during this period, especially those on a tight budget, this can become particularly stressful.

"However, with some creativity and planning, saving on activities during the festive season is possible.

"We at Moneyzine.com have put together some ideas for those looking to cut costs whilst still making the most of the time with their children over the holidays."

They explain that you can make your decorations, make your homemade gifts, attend free community events, enjoy movie nights at home, bake together, attend local library events, enjoy Christmas lights switch-on events, holiday scavenger hunts, volunteer together, and write letters to Father Christmas.

A spokesperson added: "It is important to remember, the most important aspect of the holiday season is spending quality time together, not the amount of money you spend.

"By focusing on simple, meaningful activities, you can create lasting memories without breaking the bank."
