Carlisle City will face an away tie if they make it through their rearranged FA Vase third round clash.

The Cumbrian side, should they get past Charnock Richard, will go to either Emley or West Didsbury & Chorlton in the fourth round.

The fourth round draw was confirmed today after the weekend's third round ties were hit by the freezing weather.

Jim Nichols' City were due to host Charnock Richard on Saturday but a frozen pitch meant the game had to be shelved.

It will now be played next Saturday, December 9, at City's Three Rivers Health & Safety Consultancy Stadium (Gillford Park).

It is the first time Northern League Division One club City have reached the third round of the Vase, with the club now eyeing more historic progress in the prestigious non-league competition.

Potential last-32 opponents Emley are in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division, while West Didsbury & Chorlton play in the North West Counties League Premier Division - the same league as Charnock Richard.

City had been hoping for an increased crowd on Saturday with Carlisle United not having a game.

Their rearranged game comes on a day when Blues are back in action, with a big travelling support set to follow Paul Simpson's side to Blackpool in League One on December 9.

The FA Vase fourth round games will be played on Saturday, January 13 where there is £1,875 on offer for winning clubs and £600 for losing clubs.

Victory in their rearranged third round game would net Carlisle City £1,125 in prize money, with defeat meaning they would receive £350.
