POLICE officers have been conducting patrols around Workington due to suspicious activity.
There were reports of a 'suspicious' male offering residents advice on their homes.
A spokesperson said: "PCSO 5424 and PC 2494 have conducted patrols around Salterbeck this evening due to recent reports of a suspicious male offering residents advice on their home conditions.
"Please do not let anyone enter your home you do not know.
"Always check ID badges, check with your local housing agency or the company they claim to be working for.
"Keep your property secure and any valuables out of sight."
