The opening date for a new Thai restaurant in Carlisle has been revealed.

Bringing a 'relaxed, more casual, and street-food style', Namh Moon will open on December 7, according to owner Nueng McGregor.

She owns the Star of Siam in Keswick and will add to her Cumbrian portfolio with this new venture.

The restaurant is to be located on Treasury Court, off Fisher Street, in Carlisle city centre, taking over the unit of a former restaurant.

Ms McGregor initially planned to open this restaurant in October this year, but several complications including personal illness had delayed this.

The new opening date will be preceded by a soft opening for friends and family on December 6, but will open to the general public the following day.

For those wondering about the menu, it will be revealed in due course as a website is currently being developed.

In the meantime, Ms McGregor explained more about what food and style this new place will offer Carlisle:  "It's going to be a lot more casual (than Star of Siam), and very similar to street food.

"We are not trying to make the normal dishes that we make in Keswick, it's going to be more relaxed, with lots of drinks."
