A disability arts charity in North Cumbria is inviting people to its free Christmas event to celebrate diverse local artists.

Prism Arts’ Yuletide Showcase takes place at the Central Methodist Hall on Market Street in Carlisle on December 13, starting at 6pm, with the charity promising an evening filled with creativity, community, and celebration.

A spokesperson from Prism said: “The Yuletide Showcase will exhibit artwork produced by talented learning disabled and/or autistic adults within our community since the beginning of the academic year in September.

“There will be a variety of exhibition spaces across the grand Central Methodist Hall, including an exciting display by James Rennie sixth-form students who have been collaborating with the charity.

“Adding to the festivities, there will be a raffle with many fantastic prizes including framed prints for attendees to win.

“Complimentary refreshments will be provided, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all to enjoy.”

This event will also mark the launch of the Prism Shop, an enterprise which will feature curated selections of artwork by Prism Artists.

The Prism Shop not only provides a platform for the charity’s creatives to showcase their talents but also serves as a way of generating income for the artists, making the shop one of the first of its kind in the county.

The shop will launch online on December 6 with items available to purchase in-person at this event on December 13.

Prism Artist Jyma Harkins said of the venture: “It’s really exciting. The possibility of someone buying my artwork is like a fairy tale.”

You will be able to explore and purchase the remarkable artwork on the Prism Arts website from December 6.
