Skinburness residents are being warned of a suspect trader eyeing up roofing jobs as part of an investigation into fraud.
It has been reported to police that a man had been canvassing roofing work in the area on Saturday, October 28 raising suspicion.
The man is described as being white, of slim build, aged in his mid-twenties to early-thirties, approximately 5ft 7, brown hair and had a north east accent. He was also travelling in a white van.
Police would like to speak to anyone who has any further information on this man or if they spoken to him directly.
A spokesperson from Cumbria Police said: "Officers would like to take this opportunity to remind people to be vigilant to potential bogus traders.
"Don’t do business on the doorstep. Use a recommended, trusted trader.
"Anyone with information relating to this incident can report online at www.cumbria.police.uk/report-it, quoting incident number 130 of the 6 November 2023.
"Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111," they said.
