Rheged, located in the North Lakes, is a place where family and friends can meet up and spend the day taking part in lots of fun activities; watch a movie, have a meal, see an exhibition, do some shopping and even hold a meeting.

 

Their unique gallery often holds events bringing together artists work by having many exhibitions. By using the gorgeous landscape right in front of us the gallery goes beyond the lake district to explore arts in all diversity. As well as holding many art classes such as calligraphy, watercolour, weaving, embroidery and many more in order to give you the opportunity to get creative!

 

Libby Edmondson is holding an event called “A life full of colour” between the 26th September and 26th November 2023. There is free entry to anyone who wants to attend from 10am- 5pm. This exhibition will celebrate the work of around the lake district created by Libby. She uses a vibrant tone in her work through the use of many different colours. She also does work such as embroidery, ceramics, weaving and pastels. The exhibition includes 270 pieces of Libby’s artwork. With the assistance of her husband, Nigel, and son, Richard, the exhibition embraces her creativity in many different forms. Each piece tells a story of how and why they were produced. It also includes the chance to see her last unfinished paintings and an insight to her garden studio. There are also many opportunities to buy original artwork, prints, canvases or a calendar.
