A SHOPLIFTER who stole two cases of Carling lager has been given a community order.
Albert Newall, 29, stole the lager worth £30, from Spar, at Bridge End, Egremont on October 4.
The defendant, of Pica Cottages, Workington, pleaded guilty to theft from a shop when he appeared at Workington Magistrates’ Court.
Newall was given a one-year community order with 10 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
He was fined £40 and ordered to pay £30 in compensation to Spar. No order was made for costs due to the defendant’s limited means.
