A popular Pop-Up shop would officially return to Carlisle this week for its fifth year in the border city.

Carlisle Creative, located at the Intro unit on Paternoster Row near Carlisle Cathedral, opened its doors to the public on Tuesday, November 7 and will be open until December 3 from 9.30am to 4pm Monday to Saturday and 11-3pm on Sundays.

The shop includes a wide range of local handmade items including ceramics, small gifts and homewares.

The Carlisle Creative was set up by Becca Dockerty of Maud and Evelyn and Hannah Pearson of Bob Loves Landy five years ago as they were struggling to find quality craft markets in the local area to sell their own products at.

Rebecca said: "Things take a while to come together so to see it open and see the public coming in is absolutely fantastic. We've got a great range of makers in store again and we love the work that they've brought us. It's always an honour and a delight to sell items that people in the local community have made."

The work of 21 different makers can be seen at the pop-up. Some are in for all four weeks, some for two, with a changeover of makers halfway through to give the shop a refresh and people a reason to visit twice.

We like to have a selection of returning makers and new makers each time so that it's not completely different, and people can find something new."

The shop looks ideal for stocking fillers and Christmas gifts, while the sweet-smelling candles ensure a welcoming feel when you enter.

Rebecca added: "Christmas isn't a guaranteed shopping period but it is a major one. As a small business, you start preparing for Christmas in about March. We try and provide a platform for people to get their work out there."
