New Carlisle restaurant Elements makes a splash in its first week

Elements, which opened on Cecil Street on October 28, is the brainchild of Jaic Miller and head chef Luke Morgan.

It aims to bring a 'fresh and innovative approach' to dining in the city touching on the 'four elements', all from a restaurant nestled in a cozy underground setting. 

"We've come up with a unique concept to play with the elements when it comes to food and drink," said Carlisle born-and-bred owner Jaic Miller.

"The food side is split into the four elements where your food comes from: farms and butchers, river and seas, the garden and forest, and fells - we're playing on that."

The unique concept prioritises locally sourced ingredients and seasonal produce. 

Not stopping at innovative food offerings, Elements also raises the bar in the realm of mixology. The cocktail menu at the restaurant is inspired by the four elements - fire, earth, air, and water - promising to set a new standard for cocktails in the city. 

The restaurant, which is open seven days a week, aims to fill the gap for quality dining during the early part of the week, Monday to Wednesday, when many places remain closed. 

"Realistically, Monday to Wednesday, not many places are open in Carlisle - we want to give people that choice.

"The reviews have all said Carlisle has been missing this for years, so we're hoping it will be a success," the 23-year-old said. 

It also boasts handpicked staff from all around the city, including business partner and talented head chef Luke Morgan, who hopes his experience in Michelin-starred restaurants will raise the level of culinary skill in the city. 

"I couldn't be happier. We've got a really good team behind Luke," he said. 

A Sunday roast option for those looking to savour a traditional favourite will also be available.

In addition, an exclusive after-hours cocktail menu will also be available from 9.30pm to midnight.
