KESWICK'S Cherrydidi gift shop has shut its physical premises to concentrate on online sales after nearly a decade of fanning local artistic talent.
The gift shop, which aids artists in Cumbria and beyond, is not going out of business, rather choosing to reshuffle how it bolsters these artists.
Owners Jean and Ade Harmer revealed that despite a turnover of £750,000 last year, the maintenance and overheads of their brick-and-mortar store became unsustainable.
"Cherrydidi Online Shop offers the same great gifts and art from the same artists and makers but is a more viable business model," they explained.
The online store will offer free postage and the same products, with 95 per cent of the earnings still going to local artists.
