Cumberland Council is informing residents and businesses of resurfacing works on the B6263, Wetheral.

The project, starting Monday, November 6 and running until Friday, November 24, is aimed at substantially improving the road's quality and durability.

Modernising procedures include reshaping to enhance drainage, replacing ironwork for future maintenance accessibility, and renewing line markings.

Phase one of the roadworks involve the stretch from Bowling Green to Eden Mount, followed by phase two from Wheatsheaf Inn to Wetheral Community Hall.

In phase 2, temporary 30mph signs will be deployed for safety.

A full road closure will be implemented during each phase, from approximately 8am to 5pm daily.

A clearly signed diversion route will be made available for road users.

Immediate access outside of these hours will be granted only if deemed safe.

Cumberland Council expressed its gratitude to the community for their ongoing support and patience during the enhancement operations, apologising for any inconvenience.
