The Three Tuns pub in Whitehaven is under new ownership and is due to open this week.

Jordan Atkinson of JA Roofing has taken over and has some fresh ideas that he hopes customers will enjoy.

The Three Tuns had been a popular pub in Whitehaven for decades and unfortunately closed its doors during Covid, much to the dismay of its regulars.

The pub has now been given a new lease of life and Jordan along with his team hopes to welcome punters old and new back through the doors.

They have decided to keep The Three Tuns in keeping with its routes as a rock bar but there are some new additions.

There is a new pool table and log burning fire along with some exciting wall art.

Mr Atkinson said: "We are trying to open up a positive mindset environment where you can pull up a stool and speak to someone behind the bar, there won't just be people sat on their own dotted all over the pub.

"We've got a warm fire with wood being used from my business, JA Roofing, which will help to keep the place looking nice.

"We'll be getting the best ales and will be a free house, we want to be the cheapest bar in town and do some great promotions, creating an all-around positive environment.

The Three Tuns will be opening on November 1 and will be open seven days a week from 11am until 12am.

Mr Atkinson continued: "It will be catering to people like rockers and motorcyclists but whoever you are, wherever you are from, anyone can come in.

"There's some new wall art with wings painted on the wall and any picture customers take with this they will be given a free shot.

"The pool table is going to be free, the jukebox will be free, and it is going to be a pub run by the community for the community.

"We've had a lot of interest so far and have just hit 1,000 likes and followers on social media within 24 hours."
