VOLUNTEERS from Cumbria's coastguard teams have been deployed to Scotland as Storm Babet hits the country. 

Three people have died in Scotland and hundreds of homes have been evacuated as well as widespread travel chaos as a red weather warning is placed across parts of the country. 

Rescue technicians from Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue Team, Millom Coastguard Rescue Team, Maryport Coastguard Rescue Team, and Furness Coastguard are currently assisting in Brechin as part of the National Flood Response Team.

Heavy rain is expected to continue within Brechin with parts of the town currently suffering from major flooding and power outages.
