A WOMAN in north Cumbria has written a book detailing her 'experiences with aliens and spacecraft'.

Lorraine McAdam, who lives in Cumwhinton near Carlisle, claims to have seen aliens and spacecraft several times around her village, as well as experiencing abduction-related phenomena.

In her book, titled 'Phantoms in the Night or ETs?', McAdam writes about talking to ghosts, seeing aliens and spacecraft, and experiencing ‘missing time’, a supernatural phenomenon involving a lapse in memory of what happened between one thing and the next, said by some ufologists to be a consequence of alien abduction.

She wrote the book earlier this year after keeping her experiences quiet for decades. She had worked as a teacher and a nurse throughout her life, and feared ridicule and reduced credibility.

Now she’s no longer a teacher, she feels comfortable to share her stories.

One of her most detailed accounts dates back to August 2008, where from her home she described seeing zigzagging lights in the early hours of the morning, prompting her to investigate.

“I’ve been having experiences all my life since I was 12, but in 2008 it began with looking at the far field. I saw bright lights zigzagging and I thought ‘what the heck is that?’," she said.

“I watched them for a while. About an hour or so later I heard a loud humming over the house, and after that, I was staring out at this field and I saw this huge cylindrical craft just over the field.

“I asked myself if I was hallucinating, but no, it was like something was saying 'no you’re not' - it was here.

“It had green and orange lights on the sides and they were blinking on and off.

“It looked solid, which is what the weird thing is, it went on its side like it was showing off, then it corrected itself, hovered over the field and in the blink of an eye it vanished.

“I think they were showing me what they’re capable of.

“I went down to the field at about 3am two days later, and when I got to the edge of the field there was an egg-shaped craft on its side, but I was terrified at the time.

“In the silhouette of the light I could see two male humanoid figures on either side.

“I went to the M6 motorway to get away, I came off at Southwaite Services.

“There was a plain white lorry parked, the guy came out, and he didn’t speak but he indicated for me to follow him back. I didn’t question it. I believe this lorry was a spacecraft in disguise.

“All I could see when I was following it was a wall of white light, I felt myself go back down on to the motorway, it sped off, and I was heading back to Carlisle.

“My husband was really worried about me, and he said I was gone for an hour.”

In some accounts, she describes seeing grey aliens, and in others, 'Nordic aliens' – aliens that appear as stereotypical Aryan male humans.

This is just one of Lorraine’s many stories that she tells in several chapters of her 107-page book.
