A Northern Irish thrash metal band who recently celebrated 20 years together are set to perform in Carlisle later this month.

On Thursday, October 26, Dev Bros Promotions & Wreck Promotions proudly present Irish thrash legends Gama Bomb at The Brickyard in Carlisle.

Ireland's premier party thrashers just celebrated 20 years as a band and will keep the party going when they release their new album Bats through Prosthetic Records in November 2023.

Gama Bomb are a thrash metal band hailing from Newry and Dublin, Ireland where members Philly Byrne, Domo Dixon, John Roche, and Joe McGuigan bonded over trash cinema, comic books, and 80s thrash metal cassettes.

Since forming in 2002, the band have released seven studio albums full of classic metal-influenced thrash metal, gathering a cult following with a mixture of tongue-in-cheek humour, pop culture, and cutting political commentary.

The band's 2009 album Tales from the Grave in Space was one of the first albums released as a free download by a band signed to a record label.

Gama Bomb recently released a cover of The Pogues song If I Should Fall From The Grace With God featuring Spider Stacey himself. Perfect for fans of Anthrax,  Megadeth, Slayer, and Exodus!

Support on the night comes from Carlisle’s own thrash groovers Bösen, and West Cumbrian metal outfit Void Below.

Promoter Ryan Devlin said: "We’ve been wanting to bring Gama Bomb to Carlisle for ages, they are stalwarts of the UK metal and thrash scene, they’ve played the biggest venues all over the country and the biggest festivals all across Europe, this is a major coup for us to bring them to Carlisle as part of their upcoming UK tour."

"We are working with our good friends at Wreck promotions for this event, it has been a long time coming for us to collaborate and it’s worked out perfectly to join forces to bring the Irish Thrash Party legends to Carlisle together."

Doors open at 7pm, with the first band hitting the stage not long after. Tickets are available through Fatsoma, and The Brickyard's website, priced at £15 in advance.
