A CUMBRIAN pub is set to reopen, with the new management hinting at 'exciting changes' for the venue.

The Belle Vue at Papcastle near Cockermouth will re-open on Thursday, October 12 under new management after a period of closure.

Former owners Mike and Sharron Wilkinson announced the pub would close last month, after their management of the pub for five years.

The new managers have said on social media that they are excited to start serving the 'incredible community'.

In a statement on social media, they said: "Hey, lovely neighbors of Papcastle and beyond! Have you heard the exciting news? The Belle Vue pub is back, reopening Thursday, October 12, and we're here to serve you, our incredible community.

"We've always believed that a pub should be more than just a place to grab a drink - it's a place where friends meet, laughter fills the air, and memories are made.

"Help us spread the word about The Belle Vue!"
