A CARLISLE couple decided to jet off to Greece for a honeymoon after tying the knot in front of family and friends at St Cuthbert’s Church, Carlisle followed by a reception at the Crown and Mitre.

Higher-level teaching assistant Lauren Carrigan, 27 and sports coach Jordan Carrigan, 29, met after working in the same schools across West Cumbria.

The pair became inseparable and Jordan proposed while on holiday in Edinburgh on December 21, 2022.

Lauren had her hen do at The Halston, Carlisle, where they all took part in cocktail making and Jordan had his stag in Benidorm.

Finally, the pair got married on Saturday, August 19 2023.

Speaking of her day, Lauren said: "The whole day was perfect.

"My maid of honour was my cousin Kimberly Rennie and Jordan's best man was his school friend Jordan Oultram.

"My bouquets featured yellow roses, which were my pop’s favourite flowers, so it was a tribute to him, as he is sadly no longer with us."

The couple had 105 daytime guests and welcomed additional guests on the evening.

"Our favours were handmade sweetie bags which my Nanna Alice made up and our wedding cake was a three-tier. It had a Victoria Sponge bottom with the middle sponge chocolate and the top was lemon," Lauren added.

"Our first dance was chosen by Jordan, it was ‘If I Had a Gun’ by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. Afterwards we had a DJ and a photobooth."

Following the wedding, the couple jetted off on honeymoon to Kos, Greece.
