A train operator with services to and from Cumbria has confirmed that its services will be unaffected amid further strike action.

ASLEF members at a number of companies across the UK are going on strike on September 30 and October 4.

The trade union’s members will also withdraw from non-contractual overtime on September 29, and from October 2 and 6.

However, ScotRail services won’t be affected on these dates, as the strike does not involve any ScotRail staff.

Phil Campbell, ScotRail’s customer operations director, said: “This dispute does not involve any ScotRail staff. It is between ASLEF and other train operators, which means we’ll be able to operate as normal when the union takes strike action on September 30 and October 4.

“We’ll also operate as planned between October 2 and 6 when the trade union’s members withdraw from non-contractual overtime.

“However, services in Ayrshire remain impacted by the recent fire at the former Ayr Station Hotel.

“Anyone planning to travel to or from Ayrshire should keep an eye on our website, app, and social media feeds for the latest travel updates.”
