THE Wainwright Society has announced that its 2024 fundraising calendar will support the work of Cumbrian mountain search and rescue teams.

The highly anticipated calendar has raised more than £150,000 for good causes since its inception.

The Society, which supports the fellwalking traditions promoted by Alfred Wainwright through his guidebooks and other publications and keeps faith with Wainwright's vision of introducing a wider audience to fellwalking and caring for the hills, actively supports a good cause every year, and in 2023 made a substantial donation to Animal Rescue Cumbria, a charity very close to to the hearts of 'AW' and his wife Betty.

The 2024 Calendar includes twelve beautiful images of the iconic Lake District contributed by Society members.

All profits from calendar sales will be donated to Mountain Rescue Cumbria (The Lake District Search and Mountain Rescue Association) which depends entirely on voluntary donations to carry on its vital emergency and life-saving work.

Ian Nelson, who produced the 2024 calendar for the Wainwright Society said: "I’m sure there will be something that everyone will enjoy. The large colourful calendar also includes sketches and quotations from Alfred Wainwrights famous books."

The 2024 calendar is sized A3 and was printed in Cumbria. The calendar is now on sale from the Society’s website here, priced at £12 including UK postage.

The calendar can be brought in person at Bookends bookshop on Main Street in Keswick.
