The members of the Piatak family who will attend next week’s meeting with Carlisle United fans have been confirmed.

And it has also been revealed that supporters’ trust members will be invited to take part in a vote after the meeting which will “contribute” to the outcome of the club takeover deal.

The Florida-based family who are in advanced takeover talks with the Blues are set to discuss their plans with CUOSC members next Sunday.

And it has been revealed that six members of the Piatak family will be at the event at the Halston Hotel in Carlisle.

Tom Piatak, owner and chief executive of Magellan Transport Logistics, will be there along with wife and co-owner Patty.

They will be joined by son Tom Piatak II and his wife Alice Piatak.

And also in attendance will be daughter Jenna Piatak and her fiancé, Nick DeMasi.

The family are set to reveal details of their bid for the Blues to fans in a meeting where attendance, both in person and online, is restricted to CUOSC members.

The trust, in a statement on Friday evening, said: “In the days after the meeting, our shareholder membership will be encouraged to participate in a vote which will contribute to the transaction’s outcome.”

It has not yet been detailed what exactly fans will be voting on, including whether it will relate to CUOSC's shareholding in the club's Holding company.

CUOSC also commented on why the meeting was open only to trust members.

They said: “We are aware that some supporters who are not members, and some that are members have asked why the upcoming members’ meeting is not open to the wider fan base.

“CUOSC are shareholders. Our membership all own a percentage of that shareholding.

“As well as an opportunity to hear from and question the potential new owners of our club, the purpose of the upcoming meeting is also to furnish members with information around our part of the proposed Piatak family transaction.

“As some of this information is subject to confidentially agreements, it can only be divulged to shareholders. This is why we can’t have an open meeting, or a stream that is available to all. We are following legal advice on this.

“Tom and Patty Piatak, Tom II and Alice Piatak alongside Jenna Piatak and her fiancé Nick DeMasi will all be joining us, in person, to meet with and speak to members. There will be a Q&A session for any items not covered in their presentation.”

The trust added to members that there are some spaces at the meeting still available.

The Piataks, through a newly-formed company Castle Sports Group, this week made their first public comments on their approach for the Blues.

They spoke of their excitement at an “extraordinary opportunity” facing the club, and said they were keen to build United on and off the pitch.

But they also stressed the “significant hurdle” of resolving the club’s debt position with Purepay Retail Limited before a deal would be concluded.

United had previously confirmed they were operating under an exclusivity agreement with the Piataks as discussions over a change of control at Brunton Park progress.

The News & Star last month first revealed the family’s interest in the club, with members of the family having attended a number of Blues games in recent months.
