A pop-up market promoting young people’s businesses and entertainment is returning to Carlisle.

The Teenage Market, the name for a series of pop-up markets held across the UK, is coming back for the second time in Carlisle on September 30, 2023.

Supported by Cumberland Council and the High Street Task Force, it will be staged outside the old town hall between 10.30am and 3.30pm.

The Teenage Market is a fast-growing initiative set up by teenage brothers Joe and Tom Barratt in Stockport to transform the town and city centres in the UK with youth creativity.

Supporters of the initiative include businessman Theo Paphitis, designer Wayne Hemingway, and retail guru Mary Portas, who described it as being ‘innovative and inspiring’.
The Teenage Market offers young people aged between 8 and 25 years old the opportunity to gain experience in selling and marketing their own products.

Young performers can also have the chance to take part in the day with performance opportunities within the city centre.
