A special opportunity has arisen to take a peek inside the studios of some of the finest artists in Cumbria.

The coast area around Bowness-on-Solway which lies to the west of Carlisle on the Solway Firth is known locally as 'the island' and is home to a small group of professional artists.

The Around the Island Art Trail is now in its fifth year and has seen a year on year increase in the number of visitors from all over Cumbria and further afield.
