Choral fans are in for a treat as a Welsh male voice group will soon be performing in a North Cumbrian town.

The Newtown and District Male Voice Choir from Powys, Wales, will be performing at St Martin’s church in Brampton on Saturday, September 16.

The event, which starts at 7.30pm, will raise money for Hospice at Home and Eden Valley Hospice.

Tickets cost £10 and are available on the door or in advance from Capontree Vets in the town.

Andrew Vaughan, and his wife Christine, are organising the event.

Andrew said: “Audiences can expect traditional sounds from a traditional male voice choir, but there will also be some modern music.”

He said that there will a traditional repertoire mixed with some pop songs, such as Country Roads, Wind Beneath My Wings, and rugby melodies.

“It is going to be a light hearted event, not a serious or heavy concert, we want people to come and to be able to enjoy themselves,” Andrew added.
