CONSTRUCTION has finished on Komatsu’s new £3.4 million UK headquarters at Carlisle airport.

An open day was held on Friday, September 8 to celebration the completion which began earlier this year.

Established more than three decades ago, Komatsu Forest UK has undertaken a ‘substantial development project’, investing £3.4 million to secure its first-ever UK company-owned premises.

Komatsu have said that their new UK headquarters would bring 35 jobs to the area providing a boost to the local economy.

This initiative, in partnership with Cubby Construction, initiated in January 2023, underscores Komatsu Forest's ‘commitment to the UK forestry industry, its dedicated workforce, and the local economy’, according to the company.

Elliott Brown joined Komatsu Forest as Financial Accountant. Elliott joined the company from a local accountancy firm, where he was a senior chartered accountant, gaining his accountancy qualifications and seven years of valuable experience.

When commenting on why he joined Komatsu Forest, Elliott said, “The prospect of working for a global company, based here in Carlisle, was something that really excited me.

“The potential future growth of the business was a particular attraction, highlighted by the construction of our new multi-million-pound premises near the airport.

“From a recent visit, it was fantastic to see the scale of the building and see the plans and drawings come to life. It’s a very exciting time for the business.”
