The pair first met at secondary school but romance was not on the cards until meeting on a night out in Carlisle that they claim their story started from there.

Sellafield electrician Liam knew Kerry was the one and decided to propose at home after the birth of their first child Riley in 2011.

Recalling the moment, Jopsons Jewellers employee Kerry said: "It was short and sweet.

"We had just had a premature baby, so after being unwell for a few months during the pregnancy, we were settling down for the night one evening and he just said “should we get married then," in true Liam style. There was zero romance involved.

"After the engagement announcement, I celebrated my hen do in Benidorm for four days with 14 of my friends and Liam went to Portugal for 4 days with 19 of his friends."

Finally, the pair's big day arrived and Kerry wore a beautiful Mark Lesley fishtail dress with soft tulle beading, complete with chapel length train and sweetheart neckline to meet the love of her life at the altar.

Speaking about the big day, Kerry said: "Myself and the bridal party stayed at the venue the evening before but Liam came in two stretch limos.

"We had 50-day guests and we were married outside in the Pergola. Our arrival drinks were Prosecco & larger.

"We then had a sit-down wedding breakfast with a multiple-choice menu. We had soup and pate as starter, chicken and beef as mains, and the bride and groom's fave puddings of profiteroles or sticking toffee pudding for dessert.

"We had prosecco again for the speeches and a whole lot of shots at the evening reception, with an added 130 evening guests.

"Our favours were cookies with Mr & Mrs. Hilton 12.05.2023 written on them in ivory and sage writing, individually wrapped with a sage bow.

"The cake was a 3-tier ivory and sage ombré cake. The bottom layer was double chocolate, the middle was vanilla and the top was chocolate orange, it also had gold lettering to match our invites and ivory flowers.

"Our first dance was James Arthur's 'Say you won’t let go', which I knew for years was going to be our wedding song. The words are very relatable to both of us.

"After the dance, we had a DJ and sax player who got everyone up on the dance floor and kept everything moving, absolutely fabulous addition to the day."

After the wedding, the pair flew to Kraków for five days and left their kids with their parents but they have booked a 'family moon' booked for their 1st wedding anniversary.
