Tom Piatak, the American businessman linked with a Carlisle United takeover, was at Brunton Park today.

Piatak and his son, also Tom, were in the crowd at United's ground to watch the League One game against Exeter City.

Their appearance comes as talks continue over the future of the Blues.

Florida businessman Piatak and his son, both wearing replica United home shirts, were in the Andrew Jenkins Stand in the first half as Carlisle faced the Grecians in their fourth game of the league season.

They then moved to the Warwick Road End to watch the remainder of the Blues' 2-0 defeat, with Tom junior later posting a video from the home terrace on an Instagram reel, captioned: "Tough result but loved the energy in WRE."

The Piataks were at the ground a day after it was revealed by United's supporters' trust CUOSC that "potential investors" would be meeting fans at a series of members' meetings next month.

Carlisle also on Friday confirmed they were in takeover talks with interested parties.

Neither club nor trust have named the Piataks, who run Jacksonville logistics business Magellan, but the News & Star revealed earlier this month that they had met United and CUOSC officials and were in talks about the future of the club.

The Piataks have not yet responded to our invitations for them to comment on the situation.
