Cumbria Pride has announced its final act ahead of the eagerly-anticipated event next month.

George Shelley, who is perhaps best known for being a former member of the boy band Union J, will visit Carlisle for the LGBTQ event on Saturday, September 23.

The singer and songwriter initially auditioned for X Factor in 2012 and later joined Union J, before leaving the band in 2016.

The 30-year-old is also well-known to fans of the hit reality show I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! after he finished second behind Vicky Pattison in the 2015 series.

Darren Milby will be returning to host Cumbria Pride 2023 alongside the fabulous Joanna Bang.

The show starts at Caldew Riverside at 12 pm and entry is completely free for LGBT+ and allies, with no tickets required.

There will also be a march in the city centre, setting off at 11 am.

Ailsa McFee, Allan Jay, Kara Marni, Kyle Finn, Michael T Ogilvie, Miss Pearl, PJ Taylor, and Tom Stevens will also perform on the day.
