EMERGENCY services have been at the scene of a crash, which involved a lorry carrying logs overturning on a city roundabout.
At approximately 14.45pm today, August, 15 an appliance from Carlisle East Fire Fire station was called to a single vehicle road traffic collision, on Kingmoor Road, Carlisle.
In attendance, crews discovered that one HGV carrying logs was on its side.
In a statement on social media Carlisle East fire crew said: "Fortunately the driver was out of the vehicle and is not believed to have suffered any serious injuries.
"Crews made the scene safe, and utilised an Environment Agency grab bag, to stop diesel leaking from the vehicle."
Cumbria police also confirmed they were in attendance at the incident, in a statement Cumbria police said: "We are currently attending an overturned wagon at the Kingmoor Bridge east roundabout in Carlisle.
"The road may be closed for some time whilst recover takes place. Motorists are asked to avoid the area."
