A NEW 'beautifully decorated' bar officially opened its doors in Cumbria last week.
The Ribton, in Whitehaven, had a 'truly special' opening night on Friday, August 4 with locals coming out in droves to experience the new bar and hear music from Logan Paul Murphy.
Located where the Lowther Arms used to be on Ribton Moorside, the beer bar serves a wide range of draft pints, specialty wines, and cocktails.
The owners of The Ribton were delighted with the support of locals on its opening night and took to social media to thank people for turning up.
They wrote: "A huge THANK YOU to all the amazing people who joined us for our opening night at The Ribton!
"Your overwhelming support made our evening truly special. We are thrilled to be a part of this fantastic community and can't wait to create more memories together."
After a successful first weekend, the bar opens again on Wednesday and promises to offer a warm pub atmosphere and regular live music shows, as well as ultra HD TVs in an immersive sports lounge.
Several visitors have already left glowing reviews on Facebook.
Carly Louise Brereton wrote: "Beautifully decorated new bar, great friendly staff, a wide variety of drinks and bar snacks, perfect for socialising or even hosting a celebration in. Great asset to our small town, and will most definitely be one of my locals."
Robert MacMillan wrote: "Lovely place, great atmosphere."
