A 'SUSPECTED ordnance' was found at a popular West Cumbrian tourist attraction, with a cordon put in place so work to 'safely dispose' of the ordnance could take place.
Police were called at 3:17pm today, August 7, to the report of a suspected ordnance being located during maintenance work at the Lake District Coast Aquarium in Maryport.
The police then contacted the MoD and an EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) Team which attended.
Speaking again today at 7pm, a spokesperson from Cumbria police said the EOD left the scene at 6:30pm, having confirmed that the object was of no concern.
The cordon was subsequently lifted and everything is back to normal.
