Founder of StArt, Seren Shaw said: "With this new arts space we hope to bring more arts events and opportunities to Carlisle. StArt began two years ago as a series of pop-up art exhibitions, with an aim to create an accessible space for local artists - particularly those who are new to exhibiting and those who struggle to find opportunities in more traditional art spaces.

"Our new studio space is an extension of that ethos, and we look forward to involving creatives from Carlisle and beyond in our exciting plans ahead."

StArt open studios is a working studio during the week, shared by five Carlisle-based artists; Seren Shaw, Daniela Kazuko Münzel, Jeremy Melling, Jess Moss, and Mariana K.

Their mediums include but are not limited to paintings, illustration, photography, digital art, sculpture, and printmaking.

The space will also be open to the public on Fridays and Saturdays with visitors able to purchase original artwork and other smaller items.
