A BRAMPTON man who had denied allegations of sexual assault and exposure has been convicted after a trial.
Sixty-one-year-old Paul James Richardson was put on trial at Carlisle’s Rickergate court over the two allegations, which prosecutors said related to his actions last year in Brampton.
The sexual assault allegation involved the 'intentional sexual touching' of a woman without her consent, magistrates heard.
After delivering their two guilty verdicts, magistrates adjourned the case for sentence.
The defendant, of Farish Close, Brampton, was granted bail, with a condition that he must not contact three females connected to the case, including the victim. He will be sentenced on June 13 after a background report is prepared.
Richardson was represented by defence lawyer Jeff Smith. The victim’s identity is protected by law.
