A CHARITY is appealing for donations of clean and undamaged prom wear including dresses, suits, ties, and accessories as they aim to hold a pop-up boutique event later in the year.

Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw hope that if the number of donations is sufficient, they can hold a pop-up shop later this year to ensure everyone has the chance to get their hands on prom gear.

All funds raised from this project will go directly towards the hospice.

Richard Jackson, the hospice’s retail manager, said: “Attending a prom or the leavers event is an important and exciting time for young people, however, outfits are often very expensive resulting in some students either not attending or their families potentially spending more than they can afford on outfits.

“We hope our idea to hold a pop-up shop will help combat these issues whilst also helping to support parents, families and local children who are struggling at this moment in time particularly due to the cost-of-living crisis.”

To donate, you can drop clothes off at any of the charity’s shops in Carlisle or Penrith, or directly with the hospice on Durdar Road.

There is also the option for collection via the hospice retail van, contact Richard Jackson on 01228 817615 for more details.
