WOODROW Wilson's Wetherspoons will mark its 25th birthday will a charity bake sale and pint offers.

The popular Carlisle pub will be celebrating its 25th birthday on Saturday, May 13 2023.

The pub opened in May 1998 on the premises which once formed part of the Carlisle South End Co-op Society story, originally built in 1904.

It is named after Woodrow Wilson, who became the 28th president of the United States in 1912, whose mother Janet was born in Carlisle.

Wilson visited Carlisle in 1918, while in Europe attending the Paris Peace Conference.

The Wetherspoon pub, in Botchergate, will be marking the occasion with a charity bake sale, in aid of Young Lives vs Cancer.

In addition, from 10 am until 4 pm on the pub's birthday the price of a selected guest ale will be reduced back to the 1998 price of 99p.

Prizes will also be up for grabs for those with the 'craziest' party hats.

Pub manager Daryl Morrison said: "We will be welcoming all our customers, old and new, to come and join in the celebrations with us.

"It is the perfect opportunity for us to thank everyone for their continued support over the past 25 years, and to look forward to many more years serving the community of Carlisle."
