For today's Nostalgia edition we will be taking a look back at the year 1966.
Almost 60 years have passed since this time and things are quite a bit different than they were all those years ago.
Looking back at these photos it is fantastic to see just how much things have changed here in Cumbria, there are also some stark differences across the rest of the world.
This was a very exciting time however, especially in England, as it was the year that England won the World Cup against West Germany with a score of 4-2 the final had finished at 2–2 after 90 minutes and went to extra time, when Geoff Hurst scored two goals to complete his hat-trick, the first to be scored in a men's World Cup final.
It was also a time when The Beatles’ Revolver album was released, featuring Eleanor Rigby, I’m Only Sleeping and Tomorrow Never Knows, the satirical show The Frost Report aired on BBC One, launching the careers of The Two Ronnies as well as future members of The Goodies and Monty Python’s Flying Circus and Ian Fleming’s 14th and final James Bond book, Octopussy and The Living Daylights, was published posthumously.
These photos show what was happening in Cumbria at this time, we can see the last Carlisle stationmaster, a Carlisle fire brigade engine, children enjoying the sun in Carlisle, long service awards at Carrs, senior citizens enjoying tea at High Heskett and the Silloth hell drivers.

Other photos show people looking for bargains at Rockcliffe Fete, the Nether Denton WI Flower Show and the queen and her attendants at Botcherby Carnival.
