Cumbrian official Anthony Backhouse will be the man in the middle at a Wembley final this month.

He has been selected to referee the FA Vase final at the national stadium.

Backhouse, from Heads Nook near Brampton, will be in charge of the clash between Ascot United and holders Newport Pagnell Town.

The game at Wembley is played on Sunday, May 21.

The occasion is part of Non-League Finals Day which also sees the FA Trophy final between Halifax Town and Gateshead on the same day.
