A RENOVATED country village inn has hit the market after its owners decide to sell the property due to health reasons.

The Sally is located in the centre of Irthington on the outskirts of Carlisle.

Current owners, Jimmy Little and Shaun Gardner, purchased the property seven years ago but have now made the hard decision to sell due to health reasons.

They said: “When we bought the Sally in 2016 we underwent a £500,000 renovation of the property, which including replumbing, reconfiguring and an extension.

“We wanted the Sally to be a social hub for the community and this was at the forefront of the decisions we made which included a sheltered outside area and a new bar.

"These areas, and all the renovations, were created so that everyone in the community and further afield could benefit.”

The Sally's five en-suite letting rooms are especially popular with visitors travelling to Hadrian’s Wall.

“Last June we were at 99 per cent occupancy, which is considerably higher than Cumbria Tourism’s occupancy report,” commented Jimmy.

In addition to the letting rooms, the Sally also offers a restaurant, bar area, lounge and a two bedroom private apartment. Throughout the property, there is modern décor as a result of the refurbishment.

It is listed with property specialists Fleurets.

Lesley Watmough, divisional director of Fleurets North West added: “The freehold of the Sally is available to purchase of a guide price of £470,000, the property is being sold due to ill health and this is reflected in the price. We are only considering serious offers as this is a fantastic opportunity."

"The Sally has not only been trading as a village inn but also benefits from additional destination trade.

"This is a very profitable business and accounts can be provided to seriously interested parties on request.”"
